The Normal West Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the East Peoria Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Normal West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday.
Normal West fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They had just enough and edged Washington out 36-34.
It was another big night for Nate Moore, who scored 18 points. CJ Wilson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, East Peoria was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 41-35 to the Potters. While losing is never fun, East Peoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Potters are ranked 16th).
Normal West's win bumped their record up to 9-17. As for East Peoria, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.
Normal West didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Raiders in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. Does Normal West have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
