Ashbrook entered their tilt with Huss on Thursday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They walked away with a 73-60 win over the Huss Huskies. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Greenwave also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Ashbrook's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Issac Byers Jr. led the charge by going 8 for 18 en route to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Byers Jr.'s evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Armstrong, who posted 17 points along with five assists and five boards.

Ashbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Despite the defeat, Huss saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips went 11 of 23 on his way to 27 points and six steals. Phillips has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleel Smith, who went 6 for 10 en route to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Ashbrook's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.9 points per game. As for Huss, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Ashbrook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-43 win against Stuart W. Cramer on the 24th. As for Huss, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-46 victory against Forestview on the 24th.
