The Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots fell victim to the Frederick Cadets''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Cadets on the road and fell 56-0. Governor Thomas Johnson has struggled against Frederick recently, as their game on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Greyson Rollman looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Governor Thomas Johnson's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Oakdale and 8-1 Linganore (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 73.3% over those games). As for Frederick, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Wootton the next time they take the field. Governor Thomas Johnson will head out to face Wootton at TBD on Friday, while Frederick will host them at TBD on November 10th.
