Baseball Recap: Ignacio Sets Scoring Season-High Against Sanford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ignacio). Everything went their way against the Sanford Mustangs on Saturday as they made off with a 27-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Ignacio got a massive performance out of Ambrose V, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Evan Maez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ignacio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sanford only managed six hits.

Ignacio pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Sanford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ignacio will head out to face off against Pagosa Springs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sanford, they will venture away from home to take on Hoehne at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
