Basketball Recap: Walnut Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Walnut had won three straight home games and Isaiah Leon did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Walnut Mustangs enjoyed a cozy 56-39 win over the Bonita Bearcats thanks in part to Leon, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Bonita, they moved to 10-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Walnut will venture away from home to challenge Diamond Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Diamond Bar has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three matchups. As for Bonita, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glendora at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendora will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Bonita surely won't give up without a fight.
