One reason for the win was Cedar Grove's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Wallkill Valley's QB won't forget Michael Cantarelli anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
Despite the loss, Wallkill Valley still got an impressive performance from Zack Clarken, who rushed for 120 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 103 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Clarken a new career-high in rushing yards.
The win for Cedar Grove keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. As for Wallkill Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
