After both having extra time off, the Soroco Rams and the Plateau Valley Cowboys will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Soroco comes in on four and Plateau Valley on ten.
While Soroco's win against Basalt wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams won by a set and slipped past the Longhorns 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since November 1, 2024.
In the three sets Soroco was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 21-25, 25-14, 13-25, 15-5.

Lily Truitt and Makinly Long were among the main playmakers for Soroco as the former had 12 digs and nine assists and the latter had ten digs and three aces. What's more, Long racked up 20 assists, the most she's had since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: Soroco was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Plateau Valley earned a 3-1 win over Rangely on Friday.
Plateau Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-13, 25-19.
Soroco's record now sits at 11-7. As for Plateau Valley, their record is now 20-1.
Soroco came out on top in a nail-biter against Plateau Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
