Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Malakoff Tigers walked away with it. They walked away with a 38-31 victory over the Eagles on Thursday. The win was just business as usual for Malakoff, who after 15 games remain undefeated this season.
Mike Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 96 yards and a touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
Despite the loss, Brock still got an impressive performance from Brett Tutter, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Malakoff's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.33 points. As for Brock, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.
Malakoff will take on Franklin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Malakoff likes a good challenge. Brock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
