Softball Recap: Eastside Catholic's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Eastside Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Seattle Prep, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Crusaders blew past the Panthers 15-7 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Hadlie Delucchi and Julian Crawford did most of the damage at the plate: Delucchi scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances, while Crawford scored three runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those three runs gave Delucchi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gloria Kokoskin, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Eastside Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Seattle Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eastside Catholic is set to square off against their familiar foe Holy Names Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for the Crusaders: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Holy Names Academy have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Meanwhile, Seattle Prep will challenge rival Bishop Blanchet at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
