Powell County have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Magoffin County at 7:30 PM. Powell County will be hoping to build upon the 50-12 win they picked up against Magoffin County the last time they played.
After having lost a blowout to Bath County in their previous match, Powell County were happy to find some success two weeks ago. Powell County put the hurt on Lawrence County with a sharp 43-22 victory. Powell County were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their contest, Magoffin County were humbled last Friday. They came up short against Harlan, falling 14-28.
Powell County's win lifted them to 3-1 while Magoffin County's defeat dropped them down to 2-3. We'll see if Powell County's success rolls on or if Magoffin County are able to steal their positive momentum.
