It was a good run, but the Platteview Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Roncalli Catholic by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxon Adams, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. The match was Adams' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reiman Zebert, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and six assists.
Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Roncalli Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Platteview will head out on the road to face off against Bennington at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bennington is on a four-game streak of home wins, Platteview a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Roncalli Catholic will take on Skutt Catholic at TBD on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Skutt Catholic is ranked 30th, while Roncalli Catholic is ranked 22nd).
