The Union City Indians put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 67-19 win over Mississinawa Valley. Considering Union City has won three matchups by more than 21 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Union City to victory were Trendon Spence and Conner Walser. Spence scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals, while Walser scored 17 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Walser has scored at least 25% of Union City's points. Zackary Fulk was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Despite the defeat, Mississinawa Valley saw an underclassman step up: Cing Scott scored 8 points.
Union City's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mississinawa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Union City will head out on the road to face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winchester Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Union City is ranked 13th). As for Mississinawa Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-Village at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
