The Davenport Broncos are taking a road trip to  face off against the Lake Gibson Braves  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Davenport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7  runs per game  this season.
Two weeks ago, Davenport came up short against Lake Wales  and fell  5-2. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by  exactly three  runs.
Davenport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Makayla Gonzalez, who  fired off two  home runs while going 2-for-3. Those  two  home runs gave  Gonzalez a new career-high.  Morgan Cresswell also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Gonzalez wasn't the only one working in the  home run department: Davenport  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lake Gibson got themselves on the board against Kathleen on Monday, but Kathleen never followed suit. They were the clear victors by  an  18-0 margin over the Red Devils. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 13  runs or more this season.
 The team  relied heavily on  Brayden Seymour, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  runs and one  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kam Applewhite, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 The  win  got Lake Gibson back to even at 5-5. As for Davenport,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-6.
 Davenport was able to grind out a solid  victory over Lake Gibson in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, winning  4-1. Does  Davenport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Gibson turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
