Highlands won the last time they faced Holmes and things went their way on Wednesday too. Highlands put the hurt on Holmes with a sharp 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bluebirds, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Noah Lahner looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Max Gabbard was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Max McNay, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Highlands kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Highlands back to even at 3-3-2. As for Holmes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Highlands will head out to take on Powell at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Holmes, they will square off against Taft at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
