The Las Vegas Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Bonanza Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Las Vegas knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Bonanza likes a good challenge.
While Las Vegas didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 43-15 margin over Desert Pines on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Las Vegas let Angela Moreno and Kaylynn Gordy run wild. Moreno scored four runs while getting on base in six of her ten plate appearances, while Gordy scored six runs while getting on base in six of her ten plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Gordy a new career-high in hits (three). Amanii Darby was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Las Vegas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bonanza, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Pahranagat Valley with a sharp 15-9 win on Wednesday.
Bonanza got a massive performance out of Kadnyce Boss-Korf, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Abbie Mitok also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Las Vegas' record now sits at 4-1. As for Bonanza, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Bonanza's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Las Vegas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Bonanza, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Las Vegas' sizable advantage in that area, Bonanza will need to find a way to close that gap.
Las Vegas took their win against Bonanza when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 14-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Las Vegas since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
