The Somonauk Bobcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Rochelle Hubs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rochelle took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Somonauk, who comes in off a win.
If Somonauk beats Rochelle with 17 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Hiawatha on Tuesday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kayla Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Anderson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ashley McCoy was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Eads, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Somonauk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hiawatha only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Rochelle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kaneland.
Mya Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Somonauk's record is now 4-7. As for Rochelle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Somonauk hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Rochelle struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
