Despite their loss, Rio Hondo Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Derek David, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points David has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nate Curtis, who scored 11 points.
Providence is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-10.
Everything came up roses for Providence against Rio Hondo Prep in their previous matchup on January 5th as the team secured a 100-73 win. With Providence ahead 54-32 at the half, the game was all but over already.
