The West Jefferson Roughriders will take on the Watkins Memorial Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Watkins Memorial will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: West Jefferson extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Roughriders never let Madison Plains get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Ten seems to be a good number for the Roughriders as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jenna Mannon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Payton Kincade was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
West Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Watkins Memorial, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Granville on Friday as they made off with a 10-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the match before.
The team relied heavily on Kyliee Trouten, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Gracie Gerhardt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
West Jefferson pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Watkins Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Watkins Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. West Jefferson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Watkins Memorial, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will West Jefferson keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?
