The Legacy Charter Eagles pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 88-64 defeat to NSU University might stick with them for a while. Legacy Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-29.
Legacy Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Khori Polarchy, who scored 20 points along with six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Richmond, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Legacy Charter were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
NSU University got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Ferrer out in front who scored 24 points. The game was Ferrer's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Darwin Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Legacy Charter now has a losing record at 6-7. As for NSU University, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Legacy Charter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Orangewood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. NSU University is on the road again on January 6th and play against Seacrest Country Day at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th.
