Lompoc (Calif.) extended its winning streak to seven games with a 49-0 victory over Santa Maria (Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Ainuu Taua touchdown run in the first quarter, the Braves led 35-0 at the half.
Lompoc expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Austin Hayes.
Rafael Arellano was the top performer for the Braves. The senior running back caught two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
Lompoc went into the matchup giving up only 8.0 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, LHS came away with a 74-7 victory.
Santa Maria (1-6) will play a Los Padres game against Nipomo next week, while Lompoc (7-0) will take on Santa Ynez also in a Los Padres game.
