The Desert Christian Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 41-31 victory over Horizon Honors. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Desert Christian did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Desert Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bennett Vondrak, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Adam Valvala, who scored 10 points.
When it comes to explaining why Horizon Honors lost, one person who can't be blamed is Matthew McEnaney. Despite the final result, he scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. McEnaney has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Brian Sparks was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Desert Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Horizon Honors, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Desert Christian is ranked 43rd). As for Horizon Honors, they will take on Phoenix Country Day at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
