Volleyball Recap: Northeastern Triumphs

While Northeastern's win against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Griffins on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Northeastern took Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 20-18.

Kailey Jones went supernova, getting 21 digs and four assists. Those 21 digs gave her a new career-high. Lilley Jackson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Northeastern was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They served one more ace than Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech's also-impressive total of 14.

Claire Donohue and Ann-Margaret Peel certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Donohue had eight digs and two aces, while Peel had 20 assists and six digs. Donohue has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16.
