The California Trojans's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past Bentworth with a 73-67 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead California to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Manzella, who scored 20 points along with eight assists. Another player making a difference was Noah Neil, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Bentworth still got an impressive performance from Ben Hays, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Lucas Burt was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
California's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Bentworth, they bumped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.
California will take on Carrick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bentworth, they will head out on the road to challenge Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
