San Manuel is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over San Miguel on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now won seven in a row.
Taylor Decker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, San Manuel got a massive performance out of Tanner Decker, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Decker has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Marcos Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
San Manuel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to St. David.
St. Augustine Catholic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Dominguez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Sam Lila also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
The victory got San Manuel back to even at 4-4. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
San Manuel got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against St. Augustine Catholic by a conclusive 8-1 score. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
