The Steele Knights will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Summer Creek Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on December 9th. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Steele: 17.4, Summer Creek: 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
Steele extended their postseason success on Saturday against Dripping Springs. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 28-21.
Steele got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chad Warner out in front who threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Steele also got a significant boost from Jonathan Hatton , who ran away from the competition to the tune of 126 yards.
Meanwhile, Summer Creek waltzed into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They managed a 35-31 win over Fort Bend Hightower. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Lloyd Avant, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Avant hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Kordell Rodgers, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Steele to 13-1 and Dripping Springs to 11-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Steele and Summer Creek haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Steele commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Summer Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 per game.
