Deming made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,000 from 7,591. The improvement was the result of 49-14 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Deming's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Padron threw for 68 and one touchdown and Richard Regalado had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Ismail Garrett chipped in 103 yards. Austin Self helped Deming's passing attack out by catching one ball for eight yards.
Santa Teresa's A.J. Sedillo and Eric Herrera have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A District 3 in both passing and receiving yards. Sedillo has thrown for 620 yards this season, while Herrera, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 13 catches for 170 yards. Garrett from Fernie Holguin's team leads the league in rushing with 398 yards.
Centennial fell 22-21 to Fabens in the closest game of the week.
