The Stansbury Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 59-37 defeat at the hands of Murray. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Stansbury has suffered since November 30, 2023.
Stansbury's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryn leigh Jones, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Brooke Jensen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Stansbury struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Murray racked up 13 assists.
Murray got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Taeoalii out in front who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Taeoalii pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Auclaire, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Stansbury's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Murray, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Stansbury will be playing at home against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Jordan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday. As for Murray, they will head out on the road to square off against Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
