Bishop Hartley (Columbus, Ohio) saw its 14-point lead shrink to seven, but hung on to beat
Liberty Union (Baltimore, Ohio) 14-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Jared Brandewie to
Alonzo Saxton in the second quarter, the Hawks were up 7-0 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at seven entering the fourth.
Liberty Union's only touchdown came on a 45-yard pass from
Austin Vannatta to
Jacob Basso in the third quarter.
Bishop Hartley had given up an average of 13.9 points prior to the contest. The seven points that the Lions ended with were well below their average of 31.5 coming into the game.
The loss comes after Liberty Union defeated St. Clairsville 31-0 last week. The loss broke Liberty Union's two-game winning streak.
