Lake Gibson (Lakeland, Fla.) bested Auburndale (Fla.) 52-9 while riding the arm of
Trey Congdon, who tossed five touchdown passes.
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Beckly Njoh in the first quarter, the Braves led 45-9 at the half.
Lake Gibson expanded its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. LG scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Thomas Boles.
Lake Gibson's most effective player was Congdon. The senior quarterback threw five touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Auburndale's only touchdown came on a 1-yard run in the first quarter.
The Braves also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 19-10.
The win was a nice bounce back for Lake Gibson, which lost to Winter Haven last week, 35-30.
