The Auburn Riverside Ravens will square off against the Fife Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Auburn Riverside 4, Fife 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Auburn Riverside turned things around against Mt. Rainier on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 7-4.
Cameron Bain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, Andre Muneton and Caleb Anardi did most of the damage at the plate: Muneton went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Anardi went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Anardi has posted since back in March. Braydon Rudolph was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Fife won against Washington on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Patriots. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Killian Allen made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Fife let Carter Christiansen and Miles Ducharme run wild. Christiansen went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Ducharme went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That triple was Christiansen's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Traysen Guymon, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
Fife kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed seven hits.
The win was the third in a row for Fife, bringing their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Auburn Riverside, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-6.
Everything went Auburn Riverside's way against Fife when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Auburn Riverside made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Ravens repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
