The Concord Christian Academy Minutemen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 50-28 loss at the hands of Faith Baptist School. Concord Christian Academy has struggled against the Falcons recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Concord Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Aubrey Collison and Sarah Veturys. Collison scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Veturys scored four points along with three steals.
Brenna Binkley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Faith Baptist School, scoring 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Binkley has scored all season. Bridget Binkley was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Concord Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.5 points per game. As for Faith Baptist School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord Christian Academy will take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fairwinds Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Monday. As for Faith Baptist School, they will head out on the road to face off against the Flames at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Greenwood Mennonite is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
