7A District 7 recap September 10, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Shane Bucenell and Giomani Davis connected against Hudson. The connection went for 61 yards, the longest such play in 7A District 7 this season.
Sickles was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Durant. The Gryphons came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 47 last week.
Issac Holder and Ray Ray McCloud III gave Sickles a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Holder threw for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns, while McCloud III ran for 218 yards. Holder also contributed to the rushing game with 94 yards on the ground.
Holder and McCloud III gave Brian Turner's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Davis was the best receiver in the league this week as Wiregrass Ranch topped the Cobras. Davis tallied 2 receptions for 75 yards.
McCloud III was a beast in the backfield as the Gryphons defeated the Cougars.
Holder put up the best numbers through the air as Sickles topped Durant. Holder's favorite target this week was Jaaron Barrett, who caught 2 passes for 53 yards.
McCloud III provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Gryphons topped Michael Gottman's team.
McCloud III was the best running back in the league this week.
Tampa Bay Tech's Deon Cain and Elijah Spann have formed a dream team this season, leading 7A District 7 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Cain has thrown for 379 yards this season, while Spann has 12 catches for 143 yards. Sickles' McCloud III leads the league in rushing yards with 201.
The Bulls moved up to 374 from 433 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Wiregrass Ranch climbed the ranks as a result of beating Hudson 25-7.
