Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Christoval's 14th in Last 15 Outings

Christoval extended their postseason success on Saturday against Forsan. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buffaloes a 10-0 shutout. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Christoval got a big performance out of Blaze Webber, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Webber has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is 12-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jace Cobb, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Christoval kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 11-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Christoval has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Forsan, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9-2.

Looking ahead, Christoval will square off against Hawley on Thursday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Forsan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
