Video: Football highlights of Muir cornerback Elijah Blades
Blades is a four-star cornerback for Muir, ranked the No. 281 player from the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.
Today is No. 42 day, better known as Jackie Robinson Day. One of the most iconic figures in American sports history is known, of course, for breaking the color barrier in baseball. But Robinson may have been a better football player and track athlete as a prep at
Muir (Pasadena, Calif.).
In fact, historians note that Robinson found baseball a little too slow for his speed. Footage of him racing around the football fields showed that he was truly one of the first true dual-threat quarterbacks of his time. He also starred at UCLA.
Most don't realize while attending Muir, he also stood out in
tennis. There was seemingly nothing he couldn't do at the elite level
athletically.
More than that, he'll forever be known to athletes at all levels for his backbone, courage and moral compass.
Muir's best football player heading into 2016 is incoming senior
Elijah Blades, a four-star cornerback who has offers from Florida, Arizona, Washington State and San Jose State. Blades wears No. 4.

All Major League players have traditionally worn No. 42 to honor Jackie Robinson Day.
