The Garden Grove Argonauts will face off against the Katella Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Garden Grove sitting on three straight wins and Katella on seven.
Garden Grove is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since November 19, 2024 last Saturday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Tarbut V' Torah 70-44. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-17.

It was another big night for Neiman Quach, who posted 14 points and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high. Drue Anzai was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Meanwhile, Katella hadn't done well against Ocean View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Katella was the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Ocean View. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 21 points or more this season.
Katella's win came from a few key players Garden Grove will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jesus Jaramillo, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Montejo, who put up seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Garden Grove is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Katella, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Garden Grove and Katella are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Garden Grove hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.1 points per game. However, it's not like Katella struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Garden Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Katella in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory. Will Garden Grove repeat their success, or does Katella have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
