Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Orono). They never let the Zimmerman Thunder get on the board and left with  a   12-0  win  on Thursday. Considering the Spartans have won six matchups by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Ronan Barnett looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Chaz Brookins, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run.  Easton Ahrens also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Orono  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zimmerman only posted  an  OBP of  .273.
Orono has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Zimmerman,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-11.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orono will face off against Benilde-St. Margaret's at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Zimmerman, they will square off against Cambridge-Isanti at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
