Seven Rivers Christian waltzed into their match Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 45-41 W over Bishop McLaughlin Catholic.
Richard Kilias and Hendrix Loughridge were among the main playmakers for Seven Rivers Christian as the former scored 19 points along with five rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Loughridge has scored at least 25% of Seven Rivers Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Johnston, who scored two points along with six steals and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Academy at the Lakes had to suffer through a rough 80-39 loss at the hands of Lakeside Christian. While losing is never fun, Academy at the Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Lakeside Christian is ranked 251st).
Seven Rivers Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Academy at the Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
