The Rocky River Pirates had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.9 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came out on top against Clyde by a score of 14-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rocky River also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2018.
Rocky River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Disalvo led the charge by gaining 176 total yards. Julian Patti was another key contributor, throwing for 257 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Clyde's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Deacon Brown and Blake Hershey who racked up four sacks between them.
Rocky River's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Clyde, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Rocky River will head out on the road to face off against Mansfield Senior at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Senior is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. Clyde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
