Adding to the longest winning streak in A District 3 this week, Omaha Westside beat Fremont 42-10,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Warriors.
Omaha South fell to Omaha Central 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Orlando Blair ran for 57 yards in the defeat.
Kyle Kasun was the best receiver in the league this week as Papillion-LaVista South fell to Bellevue West. Kasun racked up 4 receptions for 68 yards.
Drew Klein was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 218 yards on 28 carries as the Titans lost to the Thunderbirds. Gabe Smallwood also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.
JAYDEN SWENSEN put up the best numbers in passing as Benson fell to Papillion-LaVista. He had a total of 17 completions for 168 yards. SWENSEN's favorite target this week was RODALE ERWIN-HALL, who caught 4 passes for 61 yards.
Tremayne Ross made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bunnies lost to the Monarchs. The 6-foot-1 senior.
Klein was a passing and rushing force as Papillion-LaVista South fell to Bellevue West.
Klein was a beast in the backfield as Walt Olsen's team lost to Michael Huffman's team.
Leading A District 3 in both passing and receiving yards, Benson's SWENSEN and Ross have proven to be a lethal combination. SWENSEN has thrown for 585 yards this season, while Ross, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 9 catches for 175 yards. The Titans' Klein leads the league in rushing yards with 682.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Tony Kobza's team takes on Omaha Westside. The Bunnies' offense has scored 62 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Brett Froendt's team has allowed only 37 on the year.
The Warriors are in first place, while Benson is in fourth place.
The Bunnies made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,040 from 9,385. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 49-8 victory over Benson last week.
