After two games on the road, Cushing is heading back home. They will take on The Mt. Enterprise Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Cushing didn't have too much trouble with Alto on the road as they won 55-39. The win was just what Cushing needed coming off of a 28-7 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Mt. Enterprise had to settle for a 36-34 loss against Tenaha on Friday. Mt. Enterprise gained 169 more yards on the day, but it was Tenaha that made the best of use of them.
Mt. Enterprise might have lost, but man, Kaegan Ash was a machine: he rushed for 318 yards and five touchdowns. Ash hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
Cushing's victory bumped their season record to 4-5 while Mt. Enterprise's defeat dropped theirs to 4-4.
Cushing took their victory against Mt. Enterprise in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 38-18. Does Cushing have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mt. Enterprise turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
