Centennial has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Moffat Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Centennial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 92-20 win over Lake City Community at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Centennial has managed all season.
Devon Vigil continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Enrique Molina was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Moffat entered their tilt with Antonito with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Everything went Moffat's way against Antonito on Saturday as Moffat made off with a 56-35 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Moffat has posted against Antonito since February 18, 2022.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Ziah Pesqueira and Jasiah Jiron. Pesqueira had a great game and scored 19 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Meanwhile, Jiron was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Centennial's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Moffat, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Centennial have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 32.1% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Moffat, though, as they've only nailed 36.4% of their threes per game this season. Given Centennial's sizeable advantage in that area, Moffat will need to find a way to close that gap.
