Dawson-Bryant is a perfect 9-0 against South Point since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Pointers at 5:30 p.m. Dawson-Bryant will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
While Dawson-Bryant's victory against Portsmouth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Trojans 2-1 on Wednesday.

Abbie Deeds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dawson-Bryant's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Kitts, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Point, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past Gallia Academy 12-2 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Pointers, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kota Copley was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Copley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Adyson Copley was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Stidham, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
South Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Dawson-Bryant pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for South Point, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Everything went Dawson-Bryant's way against South Point in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Dawson-Bryant made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pointers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
