The Palisade Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Moffat County Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Palisade focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Saturday.
Palisade struggled with threes on Saturday (Grand Valley had 500% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Palisade was the victim of a tough 52-32 loss at the hands of Grand Valley.
Despite the defeat, Palisade got a solid performance out of Chloe Simons, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Simons scored a full 56.3% of Palisade's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Moffat County beat Eagle Valley 34-28 on Saturday.
Moffat County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mena Tucker out in front who scored 3 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Tucker, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-1 season records intact.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Palisade have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Moffat County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
