The Linn Wildcats had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 51-28 margin over Cuba. Linn might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 23 points or more this season.
Linn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiana Hostetler, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was Hostetler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Vivien Baker, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Linn's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Cuba, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linn has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fatima at 8:30 p.m. on December 13th. Fatima is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.1 points per game. Cuba will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Belle at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
