Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Masconomet Regional). They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Swampscott Big Blue on Monday. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Big Blue recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Sydnee Vocino tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Ally Kelter was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Schaap, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Masconomet Regional hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
The win got Masconomet Regional back to even at 8-8. As for Swampscott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
