Softball Recap: Rancocas Valley Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Rancocas Valley was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Timber Creek Regional on Monday. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 17-0 win. With that victory, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Gianna Simone was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Rancocas Valley let Kaitlyn Dick and Ava Sweet run wild. Dick went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sweet went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Sweet is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Noelle Bocchino was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Rancocas Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.

Rancocas Valley pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Timber Creek Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Rancocas Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
