The Tilden Blue Devils won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, falling 104-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tilden has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tilden struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Horizon Science Academy-Southwest posted 27 assists.
Leading Horizon Science Academy-Southwest to victory were Shane Foster and Marlon Williams. Foster dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, while Williams dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 17 rebounds, and ten steals. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Fred Boyd, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Tilden has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.
Tilden will be playing at home against Gage Park at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gage Park is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Horizon Science Academy-Southwest, they will head out on the road to square off against Instituto Health Sciences at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
