The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 34-8 margin over Carrollton. The result was nothing new for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, who have now won six games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Dez Malone was his usual excellent self, rushing for 212 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Malone really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Colt Packer, who rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown.
Sesser-Valier/Waltonville's win was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton and 1-8 Pinckneyville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.6% over those games). As for Carrollton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Sesser-Valier/Waltonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carrollton also has no future games currently scheduled.
