The Castle View Sabercats had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 58-27 victory over Brighton on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-16.
Castle View can attribute much of their success to Evan Mckean, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vitorio Dante, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, Brighton still got an impressive performance from Shaun Alexander, who scored 11 points.
Brighton struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Castle View racked up 12.
Castle View's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Castle View will take on Fruita Monument at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to face off against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eaglecrest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
