Northfield put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season last Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westminster 94-64 at home. The score was close at the half, but Northfield pulled away in the second half with 53 points.
Northfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Daquan Slayton out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gyasi Hawthorne, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though Denver West has not done well against Far Northeast W recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Denver West came out on top against Far Northeast W by a score of 55-45. Given Denver West's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Far Northeast W is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Denver West, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
